Dr. Young completed her specialty training in Periodontics at the UCLA School of Dentistry, where she distinguished herself as both a clinician and educator. Dr. Young completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Southern California (USC), graduating with honors. She then earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), where she again graduated with honors and was inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon, the National Dental Honor Society—a distinction reserved for the top graduates nationwide. Her achievements at UCSF reflected not only her academic excellence but also her leadership and commitment to advancing the profession.
Throughout her career, Dr. Young has been recognized for her commitment to clinical excellence and innovation. She is the recipient of numerous honors, including First Place at the California Society of Periodontists Excellence & Achievement Periodontology Award (2025), First Place in the AAP BioXclude Resident Case Competition (2024), and multiple awards at UCLA Science Day for her research and clinical cases. Her professional expertise spans the full scope of periodontics, including advanced bone and soft tissue regeneration, complex implant therapy, sinus augmentation, esthetic mucogingival surgery, and the management of peri-implantitis and oral pathology. She has also contributed to pioneering research in antimicrobial therapies and minimally traumatic implant removal, underscoring her dedication to evidence-based and cutting-edge treatment approaches.
Beyond her clinical practice, Dr. Young has served as Predoctoral Periodontics Faculty at UCLA, where she mentored dental students in surgical and non-surgical periodontal therapies, implant placement, and suturing techniques. She is passionate about teaching and has been deeply involved in academic leadership, research, and
professional mentorship throughout her training.
Outside of her passion for dentistry, Dr. Young enjoys golfing, rock climbing, snowboarding, traveling, cooking, and painting—activities that reflect her creativity and energy both inside and outside the operatory.
